Burger King Toys 1998 The Mask Vintage Kids Club Toy

Burger King Mask toys 1998 were distributed by Burger King restaurants as a Kids Club toy around the world including the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The promotion was a plug for the comedy movie The Mask starring Jim Carrey as Stanley Ipkiss, a bank clerk who finds a magic mask and gains superpowers when he puts it on.

Hungry Jacks Australia Burger King NZ - Gulliver's Travels Toys 2010-2011

Hungry Jacks Gulliver's Travels kids meal toys (aka Burger King) were released in Australia from 28 December 2010 and will soon be available at Burger King in New Zealand. There are 4 Hungry Jacks / Burger King Gulliver's Travels figurines to collect. You can pick up the Gulliver's Travels toys either by purchasing a Kids Meal or by buying just the toys at any Hungry Jacks or Burger King restaurant.

The release by Hungry Jacks Australia (Burger King in the rest of the world) of these Gulliver's Travel toys coincides with the release of the Gulliver’s Travels movie in 3D that opened in cinemas on 26 December 2010.

Collectors Note 

The Gulliver's Travels toys released in Hungry Jacks Australia and Burger King NZ vary from the Burger King toys available in the USA. Firstly there are only 4 toys in the set compared to six in the US Burger King Gulliver's Toys release. Only two toys appear to be the same as USA release: the Knotforsail Floater aka Knotforsail Steering Gulliver and the Robot Roller aka Roll 'N Bobble Gulliver.

Burger King Star Trek Toys 2009 - 16 Movie Inspired Toys

Burger King have excelled themselves again with the release of the Star Trek Kids Meal Toys. These toys are a great collectable and seem to be popular with new and seasoned collectors alike. The Star Trek movie has been pretty successful here in New Zealand even with non Trekkies so there are plenty of eager fans new and old queuing up to beam all 16 toys to their collection.

Personally I like these toys from Burger King. While they are not super detailed the likenesses are good. The toys also display well which in my book is a definite plus. The characters have oversized heads but are not bobble-headed like many of the recent releases. If you recall Burger King's Thunderbirds were bobble-headed as were the Clone Wars happy meal toys from McDonalds last year.

There are 16 toys in this global promotion from Burger King which are being released 4 at a time over 4 weeks. That's a lot of burgers for fans and collectors to chomp their way through in a month. Are you up to the challenge?

The Star Trek toys feature characters, spaceships, vehicles and equipment from the Star Trek movie. Each toy has its own sound effect. The packaging of the New Zealand set varies from the US set. As is typical here toys are distributed in a clear plastic wrapper with a paper insert as opposed to labelling on the plastic bag. This style of wrapping has advantages and disadvantages. On the plus side it is easy to see the toy. On the down side there is no indication of the name of the toy or the set it belongs to which can be annoying if you are trying to identify a particular toy.

Unlike the US and Canadian franchises Burger King New Zealand has not released the Star Trek collectable glasses. This is a real shame as they look like a nice set and to be very high quality to me.

Burger King Cabbage Patch and Monster Jam Kids Meal Toys 2009

Burger King have two great Kids Club Meal toy promotions in New Zealand this month: Cabbage Patch Kids and Monster Jam trucks. Meanwhile in Australia the same promotion is running concurrently but is being distributed by Hungry Jacks restaurants. Both sets of these collectible Cabbage Patch dolls and Monster Jam vehicles are identical to the current promotion in the USA, Europe and more than 30 countries around the world.

The latest 2009 Monster Jam truck premiums from Burger King are similar to the popular Burger King Monster Jam 2008 promotion (2006 in the US) in that they have the oversized tyres and their tops pop off. This time round, however, there are only six trucks instead of the eight that were in the earlier promotion. For some reason which I can’t fathom Burger King have chosen to repeat Grave Digger. Go figure???

A basic version of BK i-Dogs toys available in kids meals at Burger King, New Zealand recently concluded. The toys in the promotion are made of hard plastic and are a fun concept. Included in the set are two iCats (one pink and one white) and two iTurtles (one red and one orange).
