McDonalds Trolls World Tour Happy Meal toys were available at McDonalds restaurants in Australia and New Zealand during April and May 2020. McDonalds gave away 14 Trolls World Tour character toys inspired by the Dreamworks Trolls World Tour (2020) movie with every McDonalds happy meal sold in Australia. Due to the epidemic, supplies in New Zealand of all toys was disrupted resulting in fewer toys being given away in the promotion.

McDonalds Penguins Madagascar Happy Meal Toys 2015 NZ and Australia

McDonalds Penguins Madagascar happy meal toys were available at McDonalds restaurants in Australia and New Zealand during January 2015 and are similar to sets promoted in other countries in 2014. McDonalds gave away one of eight Penguins of Madagascar McDonalds toys inspired by the characters from the Dreamworks Animation Penguins of Madagascar movie with every McDonalds happy meal sold.

McDonalds Penguins Madagascar happy meal toys are made from hard plastic and each has a fun gimmick. The promotion ran from November 2014 until February 2015 depending on location.

There at least 10 different toys in the world set of McDonalds Penguins Madagascar happy meal toys. The core toys that are the same in every set are: Penguin Binoculars, Skipper Rolls, Kowalski Launcher and Rico Fish Flyer. The remaining toys: Penguin Periscope, Private Benjamin, Skipper, Kowalski Flips, Private in Action and Skipper (plush South America) are only included in some sets.

Australia and New Zealand

The Australia and New Zealand McDonalds Penguins Madagascar happy meal toy promotion for 2015 includes the following 8 happy meal toys:

McDonalds Toys Collectors Note

Collectors please take note that these toys are identical to the Penguin Madagascar happy meal toys released in USA in 2014 except that the Australia and New Zealand release has two additional toys: Rico Disc Launcher and Kowalski Flips.

South-East Asian sets of Penguins of Madagascar toys are not the same. They include a toy called Private in Action which is different from the Private Benjamin toy. Also Kowalski Flips is substituted for a basic Skipper figure.

I am uncertain of the reason that McDonalds chose to make a second release of the original 2010 Penguins of Madagascar set but this 2014-2015 edition is not much different except for a few changes to toys here and there they are basically the same.

The Philippines also had a promotion in December 2014 when a set of 8 McDonalds Penguins of Madagascar toys were released. The order of distribution in the Philippines was:

Argentina

Brazil

The Brazilian happy meal promotion of McDonald's Penguins of Madagascar (Pinguins de Madagascar en mclanche feliz) ran in January 2015. 8 happy meal toys (os brinquedos de McDonalds) were given away. The set is made up of the following toys: Penguin Periscope, Kowalski Launcher (purple projectile instead of grey), Private Benjamin, Penguin Binoculars, Rico Flying Fish, Skipper Rolls, Rico Disc Launcher and a large plush Skipper.

Hungry Jacks Australia Burger King NZ - Gulliver's Travels Toys 2010-2011

Hungry Jacks Gulliver's Travels kids meal toys (aka Burger King) were released in Australia from 28 December 2010 and will soon be available at Burger King in New Zealand. There are 4 Hungry Jacks / Burger King Gulliver's Travels figurines to collect. You can pick up the Gulliver's Travels toys either by purchasing a Kids Meal or by buying just the toys at any Hungry Jacks or Burger King restaurant.

The release by Hungry Jacks Australia (Burger King in the rest of the world) of these Gulliver's Travel toys coincides with the release of the Gulliver’s Travels movie in 3D that opened in cinemas on 26 December 2010.

Collectors Note 

The Gulliver's Travels toys released in Hungry Jacks Australia and Burger King NZ vary from the Burger King toys available in the USA. Firstly there are only 4 toys in the set compared to six in the US Burger King Gulliver's Toys release. Only two toys appear to be the same as USA release: the Knotforsail Floater aka Knotforsail Steering Gulliver and the Robot Roller aka Roll 'N Bobble Gulliver.

Burger King Star Trek Toys 2009 - 16 Movie Inspired Toys

Burger King have excelled themselves again with the release of the Star Trek Kids Meal Toys. These toys are a great collectable and seem to be popular with new and seasoned collectors alike. The Star Trek movie has been pretty successful here in New Zealand even with non Trekkies so there are plenty of eager fans new and old queuing up to beam all 16 toys to their collection.

Personally I like these toys from Burger King. While they are not super detailed the likenesses are good. The toys also display well which in my book is a definite plus. The characters have oversized heads but are not bobble-headed like many of the recent releases. If you recall Burger King's Thunderbirds were bobble-headed as were the Clone Wars happy meal toys from McDonalds last year.

There are 16 toys in this global promotion from Burger King which are being released 4 at a time over 4 weeks. That's a lot of burgers for fans and collectors to chomp their way through in a month. Are you up to the challenge?

The Star Trek toys feature characters, spaceships, vehicles and equipment from the Star Trek movie. Each toy has its own sound effect. The packaging of the New Zealand set varies from the US set. As is typical here toys are distributed in a clear plastic wrapper with a paper insert as opposed to labelling on the plastic bag. This style of wrapping has advantages and disadvantages. On the plus side it is easy to see the toy. On the down side there is no indication of the name of the toy or the set it belongs to which can be annoying if you are trying to identify a particular toy.

Unlike the US and Canadian franchises Burger King New Zealand has not released the Star Trek collectable glasses. This is a real shame as they look like a nice set and to be very high quality to me.

The latest 2009 Monster Jam truck premiums from Burger King are similar to the popular Burger King Monster Jam 2008 promotion (2006 in the US) in that they have the oversized tyres and their tops pop off. This time round, however, there are only six trucks instead of the eight that were in the earlier promotion. For some reason which I can’t fathom Burger King have chosen to repeat Grave Digger. Go figure???
