McDonalds Transformers Prime and My Little Pony Happy Meal Toys 2012

McDonalds Transformers Prime and My Little Pony happy meal toys were promoted at McDonalds restaurants throughout Australia and New Zealand during May 2012 by arrangement with Hasbro. The McDonalds My Little Pony toys are clip keychains and target girls. The McDonalds Transformers Prime toys are a tie-in with the animated TV series Transformers Prime and are oriented to boys.

Collectors Note 

An identical set of 4 McDonalds Transformers Prime toys was released in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China and India in November 2012 but these were paired with Littlest Pet Shop instead of My Little Pony toys. The McDonalds Transformers Prime set is a cut down version of that released by McDonalds in the USA in March 2012 which had a full complement of 8 toys. The USA release also included Ratchet, Bulkhead, Knockout and Breakdown.

As for the McDonalds My Little Pony toys these are identical to the USA release in March 2012 but Fluttershy, Apple Jack, Lilyblossom and Cheerilee are omitted from the lineup.

McDonalds Transformers Prime Toys

The Australia and New Zealand McDonalds Transformers Prime happy meal toys promotion for 2012 is made up of 4 plastic Transformers Prime characters. Both Autobots and Decepticons characters are featured and there are 2 of each. While none of these Transformers Prime happy meal toys transform per se they each have a transforming action on press of a button or levers as detailed below.

• Optimus Prime - push and go toy, cab lights up when side levers pressed forwards


• Bumblebee - light blue projectile can be fitted to cannon by depressing rear and fired on press of red button


• Megatron - on switch at rear purple missile lights up


• Starscream - on press of purple button missile launcher pops up

McDonalds My Little Pony Toys

In this promotion McDonalds released four Generation 4 My Little Pony toys that have detachable keychains that can be clipped on to backpacks and schoolbags and also double as little combs to brush the tail with. These cute MLP ponies are made out of plastic and the set features some of the best loved My Little Pony characters. The following ponies make up this McDonalds My Little Pony set:

• Pinkey Pie - dark pink clip


• Twilight Sparkle - pink clip


• Rainbow Dash - yellow clip


• Rarity - blue clip

During May 2012 McDonalds Transformers Prime and My Little Pony toys were the happy meal toy promotion in Australia and New Zealand. The Transformers Prime set featured autobots: Optimus Prime and Bumblebee and Decepticons: Megatron and Starscream and includes the same toys as the South East Asian release.
