KFC Toys 2006 Handheld Games

Do you remember the KFC Handheld Games toys? These electronic video games were given out with kids meals at KFC back in 2006. There are four different electronic games in the series each featuring a different sport.

These are classic mini portable electronic games that KFC released at the height of the popularity of handheld gaming with the advent of Gameboy. They were distributed by KFC in Australia and New Zealand and other countries too although I cannot confirm where exactly apart from South-East Asia.

The games themselves are made of hard plastic, have reasonable gameplay for the era and overall are pretty durable toys. Another great feature is that the battery housing at the back allows for dead batteries to be changed.

Included in the KFC Handheld Games 2006 set are the following toys:

• Soccer (red)
• Basketball (orange / brown)
• Rugby (blue)
• to be confirmed (green)

These mini handheld video games don't come up much on the secondhand marketplace as I think people keep them for a piece of nostalgia and of course because they are actually one of the better fast food giveaways from KFC of that era.
