McDonalds Spiderwick Chronicles Happy Meal Toys 2008 Australia and New Zealand

McDonalds Spiderwick Chronicles happy meal toys were distributed at McDonalds restaurants in Australia and New Zealand around June and July 2008. There are 8 movie-themed figures to collect based on the Spiderwick Chronicles movie from Paramount Pictures that was released in theatres in the first quarter of 2008.

Collectors Note 

There was quite a lot of regional variation with the McDonalds Spiderwick Chronicles global promotion in 2008. In Singapore only 7 toys were released with the inclusion of Goblin and the omission of Boggart. Meanwhile in the UK only 6 Spiderwick toys were distributed (Hogsqueal, Goblin and Water Sprite were not included). The USA promotion consisted of 8 toys although Goblin is included instead of the Pink Flower Sprite as in the Australia and New Zealand release.

The McDonalds Spiderwick happy meal toys are fun to play with as each figure has a light that can be turned on by pushing a button on the back of the toy. Also included is a viewer "a Seeing Stone" which in the can be held up to the eye when the light is activated to see holographic images (faces of monsters) on the screen.

The McDonalds Spiderwick Chronicles happy meal toys set include the following toys:

• Hogsqueal (Toy / Jouet / Juguete)
  Brown coat. Light turns in blue lantern when button pushed.


• Boggart (Toy / Jouet / Juguete)
  Red pants. Green body. Light turns on push of button at rear.


• Thimbletack (Toy / Jouet / Juguete)
  Wears bow tie and waistcoat. Push button on back of lantern to turn on light.


• Mulgarath (Toy / Jouet / Juguete)
  Brown ogre (monster) with poseable arms. His mouth lights up when button on back pushed.





• Pink Flower Sprite
  (Lutin Fleur Rose / Hada de la Flor Rosa)
  Pink dress and head gear. Light activates in her chest on push of button at rear of toy.


• Yellow Flower Sprite
  (Lutin Fleur Jaune / Hada de la Flor Amarilla)
  Yellow dress. Green arms. Acivate the light in her chest by pushing button on her back.


• Humming Sprite
  (Lutin Jonteur Jouet / Hada del Canto Juguete)
  Green body. Blue wings. Yellow hair. Activate the light by pressing the button on her back.


• Water Sprite
  (Lutin des Eaux Jouet / Hada del Agua Juguete)
  Pink skirt. Blue belt. Yellow body. Light in tummy glows on push of button at the rear.
