McDonalds Smurfs Toys 2011 Happy Meals

McDonalds Smurfs toys 2011 were given away at McDonalds restaurants around the world from mid July 2011 through to November 2011. This global toy promotion by McDonalds is a tie-in to the Smurfs 3D movie from Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation released in theatres around the same time. The exact line-up of Smurfs happy meal toys varies from country to country and some are soft toys while others are hard plastic.

As far as I can make out there are a lot of different McDonalds Smurfs in this promotion:
  • 10 different plush Smurfs
  • 16 USA Smurfs most of which are not the same as elsewhere in the world
  • 12 different Smurfs released in Australia

McDonalds Smurfs 2011 Plastic vs Plush

As you would expect all Smurfs wear the classic white hat except for Papa Smurf whose hat is red in both the plastic and plush versions.

Facial details are good on the plastic Smurfs. There is no articulation beyond the fixed poses. Paint work chips with play wear on the plastic Smurfs.

Each of the plastic McDonald's Smurf toys has a fun gimmick which is kind of cool eg Hefty lifts some dumbells and Singing Harmony plays the guitar. The plastic Smurfs McDonalds toys look good on display and stand without aid which is a plus for collectors.

Several of the plastic Smurfs come with accessories such as Papa Smurf and the detachable cauldron (Asia, Australia, Brazil, Mexico sets) and Smurfette with her pink comb (Asia, Australia, Brazil, Mexico sets). Make sure if you are buying pre-loved plastic Smurfs 2011 toys that they come with their correct accessories.

Plush Smurfs were mostly released in Europe in 2011. The plush Smurfs come with a loop that allows them to be attached to a variety of objects.
