This new set of Stat Attack cards continues the Weet-Bix tradition of rugby Stat Attack Cards that first appeared in 2007 and reappeared after some years in Weet-Bix Cards 2019 and again in Weet-Bix Cards 2021.
Stat Attack Cards 2022 Description

5 Legends cards
1 Coach card
plus
Four limited edition cards that have a translucent quality are also available in very small numbers: Tana Umaga, Frank Bunce, Buck Shelford and Brad Thorn.
Richie McCaw Gold Card (only 5000 of these available in Weet-Bix packets across the country. In 2021 a limited edition Jonah Lomu was available with similar odds of finding one in your Weet-bix cereal packs.
As always the legend cards pay tribute to the outstanding achievements and contribution to New Zealand rugby that these former players have made. In 2022 the Legend Cards are red all over to differentiate them from standard blue and red cards.
The 2022 cards are attractive with a matt finish. They are similar to the 2019 series and 2021 series in size and format. Apart from a few cosmetic changes and a reshuffling of the players to represent the new team these Weet-Bix cards are not that much different from those of the last couple of years.
The Stat Attack cards measure 63mm x 100mm. On the front of each card is a large action shot of the player carrying a rugby ball. Along the left-hand side below the player's name their stats appear: height, weight, test caps, test points, All Blacks number, success rate and number of Weet-bix eaten in a sitting. The Weet-bix Stat Attack logo is in the bottom left corner and the All Blacks Silver Fern logo is in the bottom right.
The reverse of the All Blacks cards which is blue has the Weet-Bix Stat Attack logo centred on the card and the year 2022.

Stat Attack Collector Card Case
Sanitarium have not made a cardboard collector case cutout from the back of the Weetbix box like they have in previous years. Instead they have put out a very limited edition metal Stat Attack Collector's Mega Tin that has plastic moulds inside to hold 140 cards. Dimensions of the metal case are roughly 26 x 13 x 4 cms.Value of 2022 Weet-Bix Cards
As these cards are hot off the press they carry a premium on auction sites like Trademe at the moment. Original prices run upwards NZ $1.50 per card but have since dropped back to $1.00 each. While it can be expensive to complete a set of 2022 Stat Attack cards purchasing by auction in the long run probably works out cheaper than buying lots of packets of Weet-Bix just to get the cards especially when you factor in doubleups.Richie McCaw Gold Cards sell for around $50 in mint condition. The 2022 Weetbix Rugby Cards promotion has started without the usual publicity to date. There have not been the usual press releases yet which are normally seen at the start of the promotion.
In the meantime why not take a look at my general article about Weet-Bix Cards promotions since 2000 which provides links to in-depth articles about various rugby cards promotions by Sanitarium.
