Weet Bix Rugby Cards 2013 Code Black All Blacks Series

Weet-Bix rugby cards 2013 dubbed Weetbix Code Black set featuring the All Blacks was a rugby cards series given away in breakfast cereal packs sold in New Zealand by food giant Sanitarium. The rugby cards, an ever popular collectible from Sanitarium and an officially licensed product of the All Blacks, had kids of all ages scrambling to complete their set of 30 cards during the promotion period that ran midyear.

Weet-Bix Card Collector Album

Along with the collectible cards there was an official Weet-Bix Code Black Collectors Card Album which contains plastic sleeves inside to hold the cards. The albums were only available by entering a unique code from the card onto the Weet-Bix website so a full set of cards in the official folder carries a premium these days.

Code Black Cards Description

The Code Black Weet-Bix cards were available in both the 1 kg pack (4 cards) and the 750 gram Weetbix boxes (3 cards + a blank card).

The 2013 All Blacks Code Black cards are glossy, attractive and pack a lot of information into a small card. They are rectangular and have rounded corners except the right corner which is cut on the diagonal. The cards are in the smaller size format as seen in the Weetbix cards series 2011 and 2012. The cards measure 60mm x 50mm.

Each card features a different player and is numbered from 1 to 30. On the front side is the number of the jersey worn by the player, a small action photo of the player and below the following statistics: name, position, DOB, debut, caps and points.

Cards are denoted with one of the following designations: Captain, Dummy, Skip or Cut in the top right-hand corner of the card and is used for game play. The Weet-bix logo is at the bottom of the card along with a unique code.

On the rear of the cards is a large All Blacks silver fern emblem and Code Black in large letters. The words Play | Score | Win which are used to play the game associated with the cards (similar to rock paper scissors).

The Code Black cards came joined together in lots of 4 and needed to be removed from the frame by popping them out as seen in the image below.
